ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday rejected the petitions filed by the former President Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur seeking extension in bail in fake bank accounts case.
A two-member bench of the IHC comprising Justice Aamir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Kiani gave the verdict on the petitions after hearing arguments from both sides.

However both Asif Ali Zardari and Faryal Talpur had already left the Court before the announcement of the verdict by the bench.
The PPP Co-Chairman’s Counsel Farooq H Naek and the NAB Prosecutor Jahanzeb Bharwana presented their respective arguments before the Court.
It is worth noting that the bail of Asif Ali Zardari was extended five times, while he remained on bail for two months and 12 days.
Later a team of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) reached Zardari House in Islamabad and took the former president and the Co-Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari into custody.
The bureau also requested the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad to enhance security of NAB Rawalpindi.
Sources said that Asif Ali Zardari will be produced before the Accountability Court tomorrow, wherein his 14-day remand will be pleaded.
Sources further said that the former president is likely to be shifted in Cell No 2 of NAB Rawalpindi Office.
Meanwhile, the Interior Minister Ijaz Ahmed Shah said that the Islamabad High Court rejected bail plea of Asif Ali Zardari and the government has nothing to do with it.
Responding to a point raised by the PPP leader Shazia Mari, Ijaz Shah said that it is the Court’s decision in the which government has no role.
Just for the record, PTI Government has nothing to do with today’s decision by IHC.
Both NAB & IHC are independent institutions.
