BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan: The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi held a meeting with the Secretary General Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Vladimir Norov on the sidelines of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Bishkek on Wednesday.

While appreciating the SCO Secretariat and member Countries’ efforts to look for new avenues of cooperation, Qureshi said that research on regional development through a consortium of SCO economic centers is a positive step.

The foreign minister said that these research centers will be pivotal for economic and trade cooperation amongst the SCO Countries.Pakistan FM meets SCO secretary general in Bishkek

Shah Mahmood Qureshi also lauded establishment of youth forum of the SCO member Countries to promote small businesses.

Qureshi also invited the SCO secretary general to visit Pakistan, and expressed the hope that the organization would further flourish under his leadership.

The SCO secretary general thanked the foreign minister for attending the SCO ministerial meeting, and vowed to make his best efforts to achieve set targets of the organization.
