Baku, Azerbaijan: Azerbaijan – Pakistan media agencies have joined hands for collective media presence in future to help Pakistan and Azerbaijan bilateral relations in media sphere.

Azerbaijani based Eurasia Media Network, which operates under the auspices of the International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Dispatch News Desk News Agency (DND) which accredited by the Ministry of Information Government of Pakistan and the sole News Agency from Pakistan providing news in Russian, English and Urdu languages.

The MoU was signed between the president of the IEPF Umud Mirzayev and the Chief Editor from the DND Agha Iqrar Haroon. The signing ceremony was held in the office of the IEPF.

Two media structures expressed their intention to cooperate within the scope of their mandates and sphere of competences to support and enhance the network work, through continuous connections with the international community, organization of mutual training and education partnership. They aim to develop projects of common interests to promote policies and strategies as well as capacity building relevant to peace, justice and equity.

The sides discussed developing relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan and highlighted the important role of media in peace building and conflicts resolution. Publishing of Azerbaijani news in Pakistani media and at the same time publishing of Pakistani news in Azerbaijan were agreed.

IEPF president stated that Pakistan is a very important partner for Azerbaijan and this MoU can open more possibilities for partnership in the future.

“Both countries, Azerbaijan and Pakistan, suffer from the conflicts where civilians suffer most. Unfortunately, the double-standards policy prevails in the world, but the IEPF is keen to promote peace and unity among the peoples”.

While Agha Iqrar Haroon said:

“Azerbaijan is so much important for Pakistan that the government of Pakistan does not recognize Armenia as a country. Together we can do a very good and strong work for the regional development”.

The ceremony was also attended by staff of both organisations including IEPF Vice-President Ramil Azizov, Assistant to the IEPF President Anastasia Lavrina and Eurasia Diary Editor-in-Chief Kamal Ali.

After the ceremony the guests were acquainted with the exhibition, organized within the framework of the project “My Village, My Homeland” initiated by the organization at the office of the IEPF.

Eurasia Media Network has Eurasia Press; Eurasia Production; and Eurasia Diary – international analytical information portal operating under its framework. Eurasia-Diary is aspiring exchange of ideas on conflict resolution at global and regional level in particular, for analyzing and establishing discussion platform. The major goal of the portal is promotion of the true and objective information about the most actual issues in accordance with the right to press freedom. Eurasia Diary operating in five languages – English, Russian, Arabic, Turkish and Azerbaijani is active in many regions all around the world.
