ISLAMABAD, Pakistani: The Minister for Communications Murad Saeed told the National Assembly on Thursday that the federal government has made available funds for the completion of Metro Bus project from Peshawar Morr to New Islamabad International Airport by June 30, 2019.

Separately in a written reply to a question by Sher Akbar Khan, Murad Saeed said that the government is taking interest in completion of Islamabad Metro Bus Project.

However, some adjournments have occurred due to delay in quarterly release of Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) funds, he said adding that package 1, 2, 3 & 4 are substantially completed.

The minister told that the government is taking keen interest in early completion of the said project.

Murad Saeed said that continuous progress monitoring is being made on senior forums. He added that progress review meetings are even held in the Prime Minister’s Office and all possible steps are being taken by the government for early completion of the project.

The communications minister said that the expected completion date of Islamabad Metro Bus Project for balance E/M works is June 30, 2019.
