ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Afridi has taken notice of torturing of woman named Asma Aziz in Defense area of Lahore, and directed the IG Punjab to present a report of the incident.

I have asked IG Punjab to furnish report of incidence of Woman under assault by her husband in DHA Lahore. I have further directed to ensure safety & medical facilities to her. State is all Aware to protect our daughters & sisters from toxic relationships. Zero tolerance IA,” Shehryar Afridi said in a twitter message on Wednesday.

The victim Asma accused his husband of persecuting, mistreating and torturing her. She said that her husband also stripped her and shaved her hair with the help of house servants after she refused to dance in front of his friends.

Asma said that she had a love marriage four years ago; however, her husband used to call his friends daily and asked her to dance in front of them. She alleged that she was also subjected to torture with pipes by her husband and his friends.

In addition, she also told that she went to a police station for filing the report against her husband; however, no one helped her and even demanded money from her.

Meanwhile, the Spokesman for the Punjab Chief Minister Dr Shahbaz Gill also in a video message on Twitter said that as per the directions of the Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar, they have established a contact with Asma’s lawyer.

Dr Shahbaz Gill said that he would meet Asma himself, and also assured the provision of accommodation, food or whatever assistance required to her.
