LAHORE, Pakistan: Syed Samsam Ali Bukhari has replaced Fayyazul Hassan Chohan as the Information Minister in Punjab as he also took the Oath for the Post on Wednesday morning.

Syed Samsam Bukhari was administered the Oath by the Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar in Lahore.

The Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar was also present in the Swearing-In Ceremony.

The induction of Samsam Bukhari in the Punjab Cabinet comes a day after Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan tendered his resignation as the Punjab Information and Culture Minister following a severe backlash against his derogatory remarks for the Hindu Community.

The demand of Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan’s resignation had overwhelming been raised, and even leaders of his own party – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) – didn’t stand by him and openly denounced his statement.

Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan also had to seek an apology to the Hindu Community; however, that didn’t work and eventually he had to relinquish his responsibilities as the Punjab Information Minister.
