Foreign OfficePakistan slams India over continuing brutalities in Kashmir after Pulwama attack

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan has strongly condemned the continuing attacks on Kashmiris by the Indian forces in the aftermath of Pulwama attack, the Dispatch News Desk (DND) news agency reported.

In a series of tweets on Saturday, the Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal said that not only Indian brutalities continue unabated in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) but Kashmiri students are also being systemically targeted in India as the state authorities stay complicit and inactive.

“India must not use the Pulwama attack as a carte blanche to intensify its atrocities against innocent Kashmiris in IOK,” Dr Faisal said.

Last Thursday, a Kashmir young man struck his explosive-laden car into a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPC) Convoy on National Highway in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama District, killing 46 CRPC personnel.

Soon after the incident, India began accusing Pakistan for harboring terrorists including Jaish-e-Mohammed outfit which was allegedly behind the Pulwama attack.

However Pakistan dismissed Indian accusations, and termed the attack “a matter of grave concern.”

Dr Faisal also in another tweet said that the Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua while briefing ambassadors from non-permanent members of the UN Security Council (UNSC) in Islamabad on Saturday shared Pakistan’s perspective on unfounded allegations by the Indian government following the Pulwama attack.

Tehmina Janjua told ambassadors that Indian claims based on contradictory and unverified social media content have no grounds.

The foreign secretary also pointed towards known tactics of India to divert the global attention from gross human rights violations in IOK. She emphasized the continued importance of implementing the UNSC resolution on Kashmir.
