LAHORE, Pakistan: The Punjab Law Minister Raja Basharat has assured that justice will be provided to affectees of Sahiwal incident.
In a statement in Lahore on Tuesday, Raja Basharat said that the Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar has called a meeting at 5:00 pm today soon after the completion of a report by the Joint Investigation Committee (JIT) formed to probe Sahiwal incident.
The minister said that the meeting will review the JIT report into Sahiwal incident.
“We will fulfill requirements of justice,” he said.
Raja Basharat said that i is premature to say whether the incident was an act of terrorism or not?
Last Saturday, Officials of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in a fake encounter killed four people including parents, their teenage daughter and neighbour Zeeshan in Sahiwal, triggering a Countrywide outrage.
The CTD Officials claimed that Zeeshan belonging to Daesh, a proscribed militant organisation.
Meanwhile, the Punjab Chief Minister formed a JIT under the supervision of Additional IG Police Syed Ijaz Shah to investigate the incident and directed it to submit its report within 72 hours.
Usman Buzdar also announced to give Rs 20 million to the victim family.
