The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has expressed grief on the sad demise of renowned religious scholar and Ameer Tableeghi Jamaat Haji Abdul Wahab.

In a statement issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Monday, the COAS shared grief of the bereaved family and the followers over the death of Haji Abdul Wahab.

The COAS also acknowledged his contributions for Islam and prayed for his eternal peace at Heaven.

The 96-year-old Tableeghi Jamaat Haji Muhammad Abdul Wahab passed away in Lahore early on Sunday morning after a protected illness.

His funeral prayer, led by renowned preacher Maulana Nazar Ur Rehman and attended by religious scholars, politicians, parliamentarians and a large number of people from all walks of life, was offered at Raiwind Tableeghi Markaz in the evening. 

Earlier, President Dr Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan and Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry also expressed sorrow and deep grief over the sad demise of Haji Abdul Wahab.
