ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Informational and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry has dispelled media reports that Prime Minister Imran Khan has ordered an inquiry into alleged corruption by three of Cabinet members, calling such baseless news “unethical” (Ministers’ corruption).

“There is no probe against any minister, neither PM commented on any such probe. PM did emphasis that he will not tolerate any corruption, it’s absolutely unethical for a Newspaper to make such headline without bothering for version of Government,” Fawad Chaudhry said in his tweet on Monday.

As per Express Tribune, PM ordered inquiry into ministers’ corruption

Earlier today, the Express Tribune claimed that while presiding over a Federal Cabinet meeting in Islamabad on last Friday, the prime minister revealed to the Cabinet members that three of them were indulged in corruption as per preliminary report, he received.

The newspaper also while citing sources reported that prime minister issued directives to initiate an inquiry into the matter.

The prime minister, according to the newspaper, also said that he would not demonstrate any leniency if the inquiry found the allegations against the ministers factual, and eventually they would be expelled from the Federal Cabinet.
