ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani and Mehmood Jan have been nominated as the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly respectively.

In a statement issued on Monday, the PTI Central Media Department said that the Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has given his consent to the nomination of Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani and Mehmood Jan for the Slots.

The election for the new Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly will be held on Wednesday.

The nomination papers for the election of the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker can be submitted with the Secretary of the Provincial Assembly by 04:00 pm tomorrow.

Earlier in the day, the first Session of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly was held in Peshawar in which the newly elected members of the House mostly belonging to PTI took Oath of their Offices.

Sardar Orangzeb Nalotha, a senior Parliamentarian, administered the Oath to them.
