ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Presidential Elections in the Country will be held in the third week of August 2018, sources in the Election Commission of Pakistan said.

Sources said that the tenure of incumbent President Mamnoon Hussain will be completed on September 8.

Under the Constitution, the presidential elections were scheduled to be held between July 8 and August 8, 2018. However, due to absence of assemblies, the presidential elections will be held in the third week of August, the ECP sources said.

The 12th President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain assumed the Office of the President on September 9, 2013.

Meanwhile, the ECP has launched SMS service in major Cities for the voters to get details about their polling stations set across the Country for parliamentary elections, scheduled on July 25, 2018.

According to the ECP, the voters by sending their CNIC number on 8300 can get the required details about their polling stations.

The ECP officials said that the service initially launched in major Cities will be expanded to the entire Country.
