PoliticsNawaz Sharif announces to return to Pakistan, vows to continue his struggle

LONDON: The convicted former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has announced to return to Pakistan soon, with a resolve to continue his struggle for the sanctity of vote.

However, he didn’t tell any specific date of his return to the Country but in reply to a question asked by media representatives in London, he said that as soon as his wife Kulsoom Nawaz regained her senses and he exchanged farewell words with her, then he would return to the Country.

Nawaz Sharif said that the decision did not convict him on the basis of corruption rather on the basis of change and development that they had brought to the Country.

“It’s an honor for me that I was not convicted on corruption charges,” Nawaz Sharif said referring to TV reports that the Prosecution denied having found any corruption committed by him.

Nawaz Sharif said that only a few judges and generals couldn’t hold the Country hostage, adding that he would continue his struggle even from the prison. He said that in Pakistan, it was easier to sabotage the Constitution and laws.

“We talk about its (Constitution’s) supremacy and that is our crime. This Avenfield verdict is not from any court rather from somewhere else,” Nawaz Sharif said.

“After getting independence from Britishers we can no more live under the slavery of a handful of people,” he added.

The former prime minister said that he was ready to pay any price for the sanctity of vote. He said that even handcuffs and imprisonment could not halt his way of ensuing respect to vote and strengthening of democracy in the Country.

Nawaz Sharif said that loyalty of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was forcefully altered, and an unknown person was made as the Chairman Senate. He said that agriculture department was making the people change their loyalty and surrender their tickets.

In reply to a question, he said that Maryam Nawaz was more anxious than him in returning to Pakistan. He also said that he was not seeking asylum in UK, and he would go back to his Country.
