PoliticsPTI concerned over NAB’s decision of not arresting corrupt elements before polls

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Wednesday expressed serious reservations over the decision of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to not arrest corrupt elements before general elections 2018.

Earlier in the day, in a meeting of the Executive Board of NAB presided over by the bureau Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal, it was decided not to arrest any Election Candidate facing corruption cases by deferring their arrest until after polling day on July 25.

The meeting also decided that those who had already been arrested would not be released. The bureau said that it had no link with election or politics.

Meanwhile in a statement, the Central Secretary Information Fawad Chaudhry expressed astonishment over the decision of NAB’s Executive Board. He said that the decision of NAB’s Executive Board contradicts the law.

“Under which law, people involved in serious crimes such as corruption are being given leverage,” Fawad Chaudhry asked.

“Politics subjected to conciliation is understandable but subjugation of law leads to anarchic trends,” he imparted.

Fawad Chaudhry urged NAB to review the controversial decision and brought the looters and plunders in the dock of law without any discrimination.
