Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has departed for Turkey to represent Pakistan in the Extraordinary Session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) being held in Istanbul on Friday to discuss situation after massacre of dozens of Palestinians by Israeli Troops.

The Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim had invited his Pakistani Counterpart to participate in the Extraordinary Session of the OIC convened by Turkey in Istanbul.

Meanwhile, the Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua represented Pakistan at the Council of Foreign Ministers Meeting prior to the Extraordinary OIC Summit on Palestine in Istanbul today.

The foreign secretary also met the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu during the Council of Foreign Ministers Meeting.

The United Nations Human Rights Council will also hold a special session today to discuss “the deteriorating human rights situation” in the Palestinian territories after Israeli forces martyred 60 Palestinians.

Separately, the Arab League has called for an International probe into alleged crimes by Israeli forces against Palestinians following mass protests on the Gaza border that saw dozens of demonstrators martyred.

Meanwhile, “Palestine Solidarity Day” is being observed today in Pakistan to express solidarity with oppressed people of Palestine and condemn Israel’s state terrorism in Gaza.

In a statement, the Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said Pakistan would continue to support Palestinian brethren on every forum.

Special rallies and gatherings are being organized to express solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine and to condemn Israel’s state terrorism in Gaza.
