MOSCOW: At least two people were injured in a blast that hit Moscow’s central Novy Arbat street on Tuesday, news agencies said.

“The blast ripped through a metal container near Novy Arbat Street, 7, in Moscow’s center,” a law enforcement source told Itar-Tass news agency. The explosion occurred next to an Asian restaurant.

Police are investigating the blast, which took place in the middle of one of the city’s main avenues, in a district full of tourist attractions.
