ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The federal government on Friday unveiled Rs 2.043 trillion Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the fiscal year 2018-19, aimed at further strengthening physical and social infrastructure, to put the economy on sustainable and high growth trajectory.

The PSDP 2018-19, formulated on the basis of development priorities of the government and the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform, has aligned it with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Long Term Plan of China Pakistan Economic Corridor and Vision 2025 goals.

Out of the total PSDP, Rs 1030 billion have been set aside for the federal departments whereas a sum of Rs 1013 billion has been allocated for the provinces, according to budgetary document.

Out of Rs 1030 billion federal PSDP, the government allocated an amount of Rs 4677.487 million for Aviation Division, Rs 125 million for Board of Investment, Rs 1116.438 million for Cabinet Division, Rs 15236.924 million for Capital Administration and Development Division, Rs 802.699 million for Climate Change Division, Rs 1500 million for Commerce Division, Rs 14480 million for Communication Division (other than NHA) and Rs 640.644 million for Defence Division.

An amount of Rs 2810 million has been set aside for Defence Production Division, Rs 70million for Economic Affairs Division, Rs 175.4 million for Establishment Division, Rs 4336.5 million for Federal Education and Professional Training Division, Rs 18151.4 million for Finance Division and Rs 199 million for Foreign Affairs Division.

The government also allocated Rs 46679 million for Higher Education Commission (HEC), Rs 5433.1 million for Housing and Works Division, Rs 300 million for Human Rights Division, Rs 1775.2 million for Industries and Production Division, Rs 1644 million for Information and Broadcasting Division, Rs 3046.3 million for Information Technology and Telecom Division and Rs 3552.5 million for Inter Provincial Coordination Division.

An amount of Rs 24207.8 million has been allocated for Interior Division, Rs 51205.8 million for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Affairs Division, Rs 1025 million for Law and Justice Division, Rs 10118 million for Maritime Affairs Division, Rs 251 million for Narcotics Control Division, Rs 1808 million for National Food Security and Research Division, Rs 25034.4 million for National Health Services Regulation and Coordination Division, Rs 550.5 million for National History and Literary Heritage Division, Rs 30424.5 million for Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission, Rs 300 million for Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority and Rs 943 million for Petroleum Division.

The government allocated Rs 27590 million for Planning Development and Reform Division, Rs 370 million for Postal Services Division, Rs 40000 million for Railways Division, Rs 36 million for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Division, Rs 2558.9 million for Revenue Division, Rs 2660 million for Science and Technological Division and Rs 28255.5 million for States and Frontiers Regions Division.

An amount of Rs 200 million has been kept for Statistics Division, Rs 4700 million for SUPARCO, Rs 280 million for Textile Industry Division and Rs 79500 million for Water Resource Division.

In addition, the government also allocated Rs 237725 million for various corporations including Rs 201600 million for National Highways Authority, Rs 36125 million for NTDC/PEPCO.

An amount of Rs 5000 million has been earmarked for Prime Minister’s Global SDGs achievement programme, Rs 5000 million for Special Provision for Completion of CPEC Projects, Rs 10000 million for FATA 10 Years Plan (Federal Contribution), Rs 8500 million for ERRA and Rs 100000 million for Block Allocation for New Projects by next government.

Moreover, Rs 45000 million has been allocated for Relief and Rehabilitation of internally displaced persons and Rs 45000 for Security Enhancement, Rs 10000 million for Prime Minister’s Youth Initiative and Rs 5000 million for Gas Infrastructure Development Cess.
