QUTTA, Pakistan: Five policemen were martyred and seven further injured when a suicide bomber targeted a police van on airport road in Quetta on Tuesday.

Separately, according to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), two suicide bombers also attacked a Frontier Corps (FC) Check post at Mian Ghundi near Western Bypass in the City but were killed by the security forces before they could blow themselves up.

Prior to getting killed, the attackers also exchanged firing with the security forces. Luckily, no casualty of FC personnel was reported.

In his condemnation statement, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi expressed his deep sympathies with the bereaved families.

The prime minister also directed the Inspector General of Balochistan Police and intelligence agencies to investigate and identify the culprits involved into the Quetta attack and to bring them to account.
