ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb on Thursday said the federal government was cognizant of the problems of media persons and had taken measures to resolve them.

Talking to office bearers of Chitral Press Club in Islamabad, the minister said journalists rendered great sacrifices for strengthening and supremacy of democracy in the Country. She said journalists also rendered sacrifices in the war against terror.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said efforts were being made for security of journalists as well as their welfare.

The information minister said media played a key role in highlighting local issues, and said journalists must propagate positive image of the Country.

Talking about Country’s political situation, the minister said no allegation could be proved against the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Courts. She said Nawaz Sharif launched several welfare projects in Chitral.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said projects launched by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) were seen throughout the Country. She said Nawaz Sharif completed a number of mega projects in the Country.
