Upholding its tradition of announcing the result of 5th and 8th Class Result on March 31 every year, the Punjab Examination Commission (PEC) has declared the much-awaited results on Saturday morning (March 31, 2018).

The examinations were conducted in February 2018.
Each year, thousands of students – hailing from 36 districts of Punjab province – appear in examinations of 5th and 8th Class conducted by their respective boards under the Punjab Examination Commission.
In terms of academic career, the annual examinations of 5th and 8th Class – also called grade 5 and 8 – are first real test at a higher level i.e. district level, students including boys and girls across Punjab have to go through.
Established in 2005 and based in Lahore, the PEC is an autonomous body which works with the authority of the Punjab government, aims at to organize, commence and control the 5th and 8th class examinations all over Punjab and its 36 districts.
The PEC is also responsible for overseeing the process of student registration, roll number slips allotment, examination scoring & conducting, result preparation and generating student performance reports. In addition, it distributes gazette of grade 5 and 8 results to all District Education Authority Offices across Punjab.
