Kabul, Afghanistan: As many as 42 persons were killed while 55 got injuries when a suicide bomber detonated himself in Kabul. Possible target of suicide bomber was offices of Afghan Voice news agency situated inside Tebyan Cultural Center. Tebyan Cultural Center initiated its activities in Afghanistan thirteen years ago and today there was an event of youth that included competition for debates and reciting Holy Koran.

It is pertinent to mention that Tebyan Cultural Center is linked with Hazara Shia and could be a target of Daesh as Daesh usually attacks Shia community in Afghanistan as well as bordering Pakistan. Three reporters of Afghan Voice News Agency are among dead persons.

The suicide bomber targeted Tebyan cultural center in Pule Sokhta area.

 

According to the Ministry of Interior, suicide bombing took place at 10:30am on Thursday morning.

Taliban denied attack and released a statement through twitter message that says:

“Attack in Puli Sokhta area of #Kabul city today has nothing to do with the Mujahidin. It is said that target of attack was media center & education facility. Mujahidin of IEA are very cautious about such areas & do not commit such acts”.

 

Injured persons were taken to Isteqlala Hospital. This is a developing story and more information are awaited.

Pakistan has condemned this attack stating that terrorism is threat to the region.
