RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Two Pakistani Soldiers embraced Shahadat while four others received injuries in an exchange of fire with terrorists along the Pak-Afghan border, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

In a statement issued on Monday, the ISPR said that terrorists from Afghanistan side attempted an attack on Pakistani posts along the Pak-Afghan border in Bajaur agency.

The ISPR said that the attempt was effectively responded by Pakistan army as terrorists had to flee. It said that 8 to 10 attackers were killed by Pakistani forces while running back while many others suffered injuries.

However, the ISPR added that during the exchange of fire with terrorists, brave sons of soil Captain Junaid Hafeez and Sepoy Raham embraced shahadat while four soldiers got injured.

The ISPR said that absence of Afghanistan government’s writ on Afghan side of the border like many other areas facilitate terrorists to undertake such attempts.

 

 

 

Separately, the ISPR said in another press release that the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa met with Pakistan army team which won Gold Medal in “Exercise Cambrian Patrol” held in the United Kingdom from October 13-22.

A total of 131 teams participated in the event known as one of the toughest patrolling test for military personnel. Pakistan won Gold medal for consecutive 3rd time while 4th time overall.

Cambrian Patrol is physically challenging and arduous exercise which concentrates on teamwork for achieving the mission.

The team of eight men carrying up to 40 kilograms of combat gear crosses some of the most unforgiving mountainous terrain of mid-Wales, United Kingdom, amid tactical and technical challenges, testing leadership, self-discipline, courage and determination of participants.
