ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Postal Services Maulana Ameer Zaman has said that Pakistan Post will soon emerge as an efficient and revenue-earning public service department of the Country.
In a statement, he said that currently out of 100 percent budget of the Pakistan Post, 80 percent goes to the salaries of the postal workers, payment of pensions while only 20 percent are used for other operational works such as postal civil works and maintenance of postal buildings.
The minister said that he has issued special instructions to the Director General, Pakistan Post to complete all codal formalities on priority basis within a month so that Postal Reform Agenda may be implemented soon.
“There is a huge potential to expand the postal services through state-of-the art IT integrated postal network. We are actively working on the Postal Reform Agenda to modernize the postal services through public private partnership, introduction of mobile money orders and establishment of a postal logistics company,” he said.
Ameer Zaman reiterated that he has assumed the charge of the Ministry of Postal Services in August 2017 and his team is working day and night to implement the Postal Reform Agenda of Re-branding, launching mobile money transfer and postal logistics company hand in hand with public private partnership.
Zaman urged the Postal Officers and officials to join hands with him for the better future of Pakistan Post.
