Medical experts have advised the people to wear glasses and mask, and avoid going outside their houses unnecessarily as thick smog has engulfed the Federal Capital and Punjab Province.

Meanwhile, according to the Pakistan Meteorology Department (PMD), thick smog will continue to hover over plain areas of Punjab and Upper Sindh during the night and early morning hours while heavy smog will envelope Multan, Bahawalpur, Sargodha, Lahore and Faisalabad Divisions.

Besides, the dense smog has also engulfed the Federal Capital where streets lights were seen switched on even in the day light on Constitutional Avenue.Experts issue health advisory as thick smog strikes Punjab, Islamabad

The experts have advised the people to avoid leaving their houses unnecessarily while according to officials, not only six latest air monitoring system have been set up rather other measures are also been taken to control the situation.

The Multan authorities have seized 17 smoke-emitting vehicles while carrying out an anti-smog operation.

According to medical experts, though smog reduces visibility which often causes disruption in traffic flow and even road accidents but, they added, that it also brings health problems. As per medical experts, children, elder people, bicyclists and motorcyclists are prone to suffer from various diseases due to dense fog.

The medical experts said that smog may cause lung function, coughing, asthma, bronchitis, and eye irritation etc. They said that the people should not expose themselves to foggy condition, and also avoid visiting polluted places.

Meanwhile during the hearing of a case in Lahore High Court (LHC), the Secretary Environment told the Court that the smog situation became severe after crop stubble was burnt in the Indian State of Haryana. He, however, told that now the situation is improving.
