ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) would impart technical skills to 100,000 youth from next month, an official of the NAVTTC said on Friday.

Talking to the state-run news agency in Islamabad, the official said youth would be imparted technical skills under Phase IV of the Prime Minister’s Youth Skill Development Programme.

The NAVTTC official said Batch-01 of Phase-IV would commence from October 25 in which the training would be imparted in 116 trades.

The official said NAVTTC was making efforts day and night to enhance quality of training and bring it at par with international standards so that our youth was well equipped and easily secure jobs both at home and abroad. He stressed the industrial linkages should have been strengthened so that our youth could easily get jobs upon completion of their training.

The official said in the next phase, students would be provided with on-the-job training at various industries so that they could get hands on experience.

Training 100,000 young boys and girls would in fact make 100,000 families financially stable which would contribute in the economic development of the country, he added.

Moreover, he said National Skill Competitions under NAVTTC would be held on October 23 at Islamabad, in which winners of the provincial skills competitions would exhibit their skills in various trades. He said winners of each trade would be rewarded with cash prize of Rs 100,000.
