Government of PakistanPML-N to present new bill in Parliament against corruption: Minister

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Minister for States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) Lt General (retd) Abdul Qadir Baloch has said that Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) is going to present a new bill in the Parliament for the eradication of corruption with consensus of almost all the political parties.

Talking to a private news channel on Thursday, the minister said that this bill would support transparent accountability and all political parties were agreed on it.

The SAFRON minister said that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was not disqualified by the Supreme Court on corruption but on an Iqama. He said that it was the right of every citizen to defend himself in the case before the court.

Replying to a question, the minister said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leadership had right to give statements against their political rivals, adding that PPP had lost its popularity in Punjab and results of last general elections were proof of the fact.
