NewsHuge rush of people at bus stops returning back to Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Bus stand remained over crowded on Wednesday with rush of people returning back to Capital after celebrating Eidul Fitr at their home towns with their dear and near ones.

Rush on major bus stops of the twin cities including Faizabad, Pirwadhai, was observed on Wednesday as people with their families came back from different areas of the country.

Ahmed Saleem, a father of three children coming from Bahawalpur said he went to his father’s home on last Friday and came back today morning to join his duty.

“This year I booked seats in advance to avoid rush and hassle of non-availability of seats”, he stated.

Zaheer Shah another person at Faizabad bus stop said, “He was trying for last two days to get seat but finally succeeded last night to get three seats.

“We enjoyed Eid with our parents at Multan and decided to go back earlier so that they have time for visiting our friends but non-availability of seats ruined all their plans”, said Zeeshan an employee of Ministry of Housing and Works.

He said transporters are charging extra fares as they knew that people are compelled to meet their demand and openly claim it an Eidi for their services.

He further said authorities should take proper steps to stop this black mailing of `transport mafia’ who are taking advantage of people grievances and putting an extra burden on their pockets.

Moscow says it won’t allow US to silence UNSC on Israeli violence against Palestinians Monitoring Desk: Russian envoy in United Nations Vasily Nebenzya said that the UN Security Council should bring peace, stability and prosperity to the Middle East and Russia would not allow United States to silence UNSC over the issue of Gaza crisis. According to TASS news Agency, Nebenzya said that Moscow will continue to call for an end to violence against Palestinians and will not allow the US to muzzle the UN Security Council as Washington seeks to support Israel's operation in Gaza. "We will continue to stand firmly for ending violence against the Palestinians. Without a shadow of a doubt, we will continue to expose the abuses and sanctimony with which the US is handling the situation. We will not allow the Americans to gag the entire council with their hands in an effort to encourage further continuation of Israel's ruthless operation," he said in a speech at the Security Council.
