Monitoring Desk: UK granted “Refugee” status to the family of London Bridge suspect Khuram Shazad Butt who was born in Jhelum city of Pakistan

Strange and odd facts about suspect terrorist Khuram Shazad Butt have come on surface. Butt was shot dead by police during London Bridge Massacre.

According to UK media reports, he was born in April 1990 in Jhelum city of Pakistan and moved to London with his family as a “child refugee”.

How could his family be a refugee from Jhelum city of Pakistan? On what ground case as “Refugees” from Jhelum was granted by UK authorities and how did they (his family) get asylum in UK and on what ground? Jhelum city of Pakistan has never faced any war like situation or had never faced terrorism wave.

In early 90s, Pakistan had been a country out of any terrorism map and a family from a central Punjab city was granted status of “Refugees” by UK authorities.

Details of family of Khuram Shazad Butt are yet to be shared with media by the authorities including how his family was granted a status of “Refugee” from Jhelum city of Pakistan?

British media confirms that Khuram Shazad Butt was known and even investigated by MI5 several times. Butt was investigated in 2015 by MI5 due to his alleged association with known hate preacher Anjem Choudary—another character of terrorism net of UK belonging to Pakistan. Butt appeared in Channel 4 documentary about British Islamic extremists, “The Jihadis Next Door” that was released in 2016 and he expressed his radical thoughts openly in this documentary but he was hired as a customer services assistant on the London Underground transportation system.

There were reports against Butt with anti-terror police for attempting to radicalise schoolchildren but no action was taken against him.

A 42 year housewife Erica Gasparri reported to police in 2016 that Butt was trying to radicalize her children in her vicinity and she challenged him in a park near a school and then reported the incident to anti-terror police.

BBC Asian Network reports that one of a friend of Butt reported to anti-terror hotline after he (his friend) felt that Butt had gone too far in supporting radicalization. However, no action was taken against Butt by police.

His friend reported to BBC as:

“We spoke about a particular attack that happened and like most radicals he had a justification for anything and everything and that day I realized I needed to contact the authorities. I phoned the anti-terror hotline. I spoke to the gentleman. I told him about our conversation and why I think he was radicalized”.

Even after having series of complaints against Khuram Shazad Butt, anti terror police did not take any action against him and he was allowed to keep his passport with him though withdrawal of passport or confiscation of passport could be first step by the police after receiving information about his radicalization and tempting children of area for Jihad.

According to reports, Khuram Shazad Butt was used to stopping his neighbors and asking them if they had been saying their prayers and when they had been to the mosque.

Khuram Shazad Butt was forcibly taken out of a Barking mosque for arguing with an Imam and calling him “murtd” (infidel).

Khuram Shazad Butt started his schooling from Shaftesbury Primary School in Newham and finished his education in business administration in 2009. He also got a diploma in teaching English as a foreign language. He started working at an admin office of fast-food chain KFC aged 22. He was married and had two children.
