RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that Pakistan army is full prepared for effective response to perpetual threat from India.

“Despite internal security challenges, we are fully prepared for effective response to perpetual threat from the East,” the COAS said when visited Siachin on Thursday according to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

During his visit, the COAS laid wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhuda of Gyari.

“We owe our independence to sacrifices of our Shuhuda. Nothing is nobler than laying one’s life in defence of the motherland,” the COAS said on the occasion.

While talking to troops at Goma and Gilgit, the COAS said that we all are proud to be soldiers of Pakistan and defending it irrespective of terrain or weather difficulties.

Later, the COAS interacted with notable of Gilgit-Baltistan. The COAS assured them that Pakistan army is extending full support to all initiatives aimed at ensuring the rights of Gilgit-Baltistan as part of the federation.

Earlier on arrival at Skardu, the COAS was received by the Commander Rawalpindi Corps Lieutenant General Nadeem Raza.
