ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The much-hyped final of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2017 will take place at Qaddafi Stadium in Lahore on March 5 as per original plan, the PSL Chairman Najam Sethi said on Monday.
The decision was taken in a meeting presided over Najam Sethi in Dubai in which the PSL Management and the owners of the team franchises participated.
Later in a twitter message also, the PSL Chairman apprised the decision of all stake holders, and also said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Chief Ministers would all be invited to watch the HBL PSL 2017 final at Qaddafi Stadium.

Meanwhile, a fresh draft will be held in Dubai on February 22 in which all five franchises will pick other foreign players if a few of current contracted international players are not available for the final.
Sources said that most of the foreign players including Peshawar Zalmi’s Captain Darren Sammy have expressed readiness to come to Pakistan for the final; however, Kumar Sangakkara and Chris Gayle have excused from arriving to Lahore even if their respective teams reach the final.
The former Pakistan Captain Rameez Raja and fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar hailed the decision of holding PSL final in Lahore.
Meanwhile talking to the media, the Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah assured to provide foolproof security in the final match of PSL.
The minister said that a high profile security plan with arrangements would be ensured for smooth conducting of PSL.
