ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) are constantly in contact over the initiation of a Joint Movement against the federal government if PPP’s four demands are not met by December 27, Claims senior journalist Hamid Mir.
While speaking in a Geo News program on Monday morning, Hamid Mir said that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi have regularly been talking to each other for a while now over the movement after December 27.
The senior journalist also said that PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari would arrive in Pakistan on December 23 as confirmed by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari but his return would be for days only as he would again leave the Country for medical checkup.
Hamid Mir claimed that though a few members of the PPP top leadership didn’t want the former president to return to Pakistan, thinking his policy of reconciliation had already dented the Party but Bilawal didn’t endorse the idea.
The journalist also said that Asif Ali Zardari himself would no longer be continuing his policy of reconciliation; rather he would try to form a grand opposition alliance to suppress the federal government to fulfill four demands which included appointment of a full-time foreign minister, formation of a parliamentary committee on national security, adoption of a PPP-drafted bill on Panama Leaks probe, implementation of the decision of a multi-party Conference Chaired by Asif Zardari on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Meanwhile, a PPP Spokesman said that the former President Asif Ali Zardari will arrive at Karachi Airport at 3:00 pm on December 23.
The spokesman said that upon his arrival, Asif Ali Zardari will address the party workers.
