PoliticsPTI ends Parliament boycott, announces to bring privileged motion against PM Nawaz

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Tuesday announced to end boycott of Parliament and said that they would move a privilege motion in the National Assembly against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif over his lies regarding London flats.

Talking to media representatives in Islamabad on Tuesday evening, Imran Khan said that Nawaz Sharif twice lied to the nation on the floor of the House, saying he had all the evidences regarding London flats; however, he failed to produce any of them in the Supreme Court.

“Tomorrow we will file adjournment and privilege motion against Nawaz Sharif,” the PTI Chief said.

The PTI Chief said that so far the Parliament had not been able to seek answers from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

“Tomorrow will be a test of Parliament,” he said.

Imran Khan said that Nawaz Sharif’s statements in the Parliament contradicted with his statements submitted in the Supreme Court during the hearing of Panama Papers.

In November this year, the PTI decided to boycott the Parliament and even didn’t take part in the Joint Session of the Parliament in which Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan addressed, saying that the boycott would continue till the Supreme Court’s verdict in the Panama Papers Case.

The National Assembly will meet in Islamabad on Wednesday afternoon at 04:00 pm and will take up legislative business besides important issues for discussion.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) Opposition leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah submitted a privileged motion against the prime minister in the National Assembly Secretariat on his conflicting statements on Panama issue and London flats on the floor of the House.
