TASHKENT, Uzbekistan: Chief Editor of the Anglo-Russian Dispatch News Desk (DND) news agency, Mr. Agha Iqrar Haroon interviewed Deputy Chairman Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Svetlana Artykova here on Friday December 2, 2016 and asked her process of holding presidential elections under constitutional requirements.

During her interview, she said that the main organizer of the presidential elections in Uzbekistan is the Central Election Commission (CEC) which according to the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan is a constitutional organ.

The independence is CEC ensured by the fact that it is not dependent on the public authorities and state management and it takes its own decisions and holds elections. The elections of the President of Uzbekistan to be held just two days on December 4, 2016 are looked after by Election Commission.

Other organizations, enterprises, institutions assist CEC in this important political event, and also in accordance with national legislation.

Svetlana Artykova noted that in all 14 regions of Uzbekistan established the same conditions for all voters – citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

She mentioned that if a voter indicates any inaccuracy or mistake in voting list, he has the right that is guaranteed by law to appeal to the precinct election commission. Election Commission is bond to give response within 24 hours after receiving the complaint and make changes to voting list. She said that such complaints are very rare because electoral legislation ensures clear electoral lists.

“The quantity and quality of the voters today are very grown as citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan, understand what they are voting for their future, the future of their children, grandchildren and future of their country”, said Artykova.

“All embassies and representative offices, consular offices of Uzbekistan abroad organized polling stations, where citizens of Uzbekistan living abroad and who wish to participate in managing the affairs of society and the state can make your informed choice. To do this, do not need much, but to come to the embassy, mission or consulate, to take the ballot paper and pull it ballot box provided that they have such a desire, because it is the right of the citizen, not the obligation”,  she maintained .

I take this opportunity to appeal to all citizens of the republic of Uzbekistan to show their love for their country and come forward for voting in their respective embassies. I love my country and I am proud that I was born here, because a country like Uzbekistan is no longer anywhere. All four seasons are coming on time. The quality of our fruit and vegetables surprise the whole world. Bread is our most delicious. And I understand that building a house in which to live my children and grandchildren, and I will build it is very strong and solid and comfortable—- my country is my house. I am confident that the citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan will take an active part in the elections. I had the privilege of working as the deputy chairman of the Central Election Commission in the parliamentary and presidential elections and with great pride I can say that we are all citizens consciously make choices and they are very active, and I was very happy.
