SAMARKAND, Uzbekistan: Landlocked Uzbekistan is ready to choose its next President in forthcoming early presidential elections scheduled to be held on December 4, 2016.

It may be mentioned that a big number of new voters have been enlisted and they will vote first time in their life.

According to a survey, 89 percent newly registered voters expressed their commitment with voting process and said that casting vote is the most important responsibility of a responsible citizen towards country and its future.

Talking to Dispatch News Desk (DND) news agency, the Chairman of Samarkand Election Commission Rodger Farmon said that arrangements have been finalised for holding presidential elections on December 4.

It has been observed during visit of five main polling stations including polling station of Samarkand state university that election commission of Uzbekistan has done arrangements in a befitting manner to ensure fair and free presidential elections.

Samarkand is one of the most important region in deciding who will be new President.

It may be mentioned that late President Islam Karimov belonged to Samarkand and December 4 elections would be first elections in the quarter of a century history of Uzbekistan where Karimov would not present as candidate.
