KARACHI, Pakistan: The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on Monday announced to offer 30 percent special discount on late night flights from November 28, 2016.

In a statement issued on Monday, the PIA Spokesman said that the national flag carrier would offer 30 percent special discount on late night flights (between 0000 to 0600 hours).

The Spokesman said that this 30 percent discount on late night flights would be on selected domestic routes between Karachi-Lahore, Karachi-Islamabad, Karachi-Multan and Karachi-Faisalabad, effective from November 28, 2016.

Meanwhile, the Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmad told the National Assembly on Monday that the federal government had taken various steps to improve PIA’s performance.

During question hour in the House, the minister said that PIA earned a gross operating profit of Rs2.83 billion in the first quarter of the previous years. He said that PIA had acquired 18 fuel efficient aircraft during the last two years.

Sheikh Aftab Ahmad further said that PIA launched Premier Service on London route and response of this upgraded service was very encouraging. He said that PIA obtained A-330-300 aircraft from Sri Lankan airlines in order to compete with other rival airlines on this route.

The minister said that due to induction of more aircraft in PIA fleet, the punctuality of flights had increased to above 90 percent.
