RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Indian troops targeted a Civilian Bus at the Line of Control (LoC) in Neelum Valley on Wednesday morning, leaving at least seven persons martyred while seven others injured.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the bus was targeted near Dhudnial Town along the LoC.

The ISPR said that those Civilians who embraced Shahadat included among others Iltaf S/O Lal Muhammad, resident of village Jabbar Dheri in Jandrot Sector – Nazia Kausar W/O Muhammad Rasheed, resident of village Gai Mathrani in Karela Sector – Attique S/O Manzoor, resident of village Baroh in Baroh Sector  – and Tassawar S/O Shabbir, resident of village Baroh.

The ISPR further said that the Indian forces also fired upon at an ambulance which went into the area for evacuation.

In addition, it said that there were reports of heavy casualties of Indian soldiers due to effective retaliatory fire by Pakistani troops. It said that six Indian soldiers had been confirmed killed till now.

In a statement, the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider strongly condemned the firing on bus by the Indian troops and termed it as extreme coward-ness.

The AJK prime minister said that the Indian troops were targeting the innocent civilians along the LoC and urged the international community to take notice of it.

Meanwhile, the Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing and shelling on LoC in Shahkot, Jura, Battal, Karela, Bagh, Bagsar, Hot Spring sectors.

The Indians were targeting the civilian population across the LoC. In retaliation to unprovoked Indian firing and shelling, Pakistani troops were targeting Indian posts.

Intense exchange of firing was continuing at the sectors where Indians had been targeting the civilian population.
