ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday directed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to hold its protest at Parade ground near Faizabad while Imran Khan asked the Supreme Court to take suo motu notice of the arrests of PTI’s workers by police.

While hearing petitions filed against the PTI sit-in on Monday, the IHC Judge Shaukat Siddiqui asked PTI Chief Imran Khan to declare that his sit-in would be at a specific place without disturbing public peace and routine activity in the Federal Capital.

Justice Siddiqi also summoned PTI Chairman Imran Khan at 10:00 am today and directed Inspector General of Police to provide safe and secure way to Imran Khan to produce before the court.

The IHC ordered that both the administration and PTI would not lockdown Islamabad.

Later talking to media, the PTI lawyer Babar Awan said that despite court order, the government had set up containers in various routes.

On the other hand, the government lawyer Siddique Awan told media that the High Court ordered the government to provide protection to citizens. He said that he told the Court that PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s speeches were tantamount to revolt.

“Today’s court decision is the success of citizens,” he said.

Earlier talking to media outside his residence in Bani Gala, the PTI Chairman Imran Khan said that PTI workers were arrested in a crackdown at night.

Imran Khan said that the Supreme Court should have taken suo moto notice of the police crackdown.

The PTI Chief said that Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif were hypocrites. He said that Nawaz Sharif didn’t know about the values of democracy.

Moscow says it won’t allow US to silence UNSC on Israeli violence against Palestinians Monitoring Desk: Russian envoy in United Nations Vasily Nebenzya said that the UN Security Council should bring peace, stability and prosperity to the Middle East and Russia would not allow United States to silence UNSC over the issue of Gaza crisis. According to TASS news Agency, Nebenzya said that Moscow will continue to call for an end to violence against Palestinians and will not allow the US to muzzle the UN Security Council as Washington seeks to support Israel's operation in Gaza. "We will continue to stand firmly for ending violence against the Palestinians.
