RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Indian forces continued to commit violation of ceasefire agreement at Working Boundary and killed two Pakistani civlians and injured seven others.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that a civilian Muhammad Latif of village Janglora and a minor Haniya age one and a half embraced Shahadat while seven civilians were injured due to Indian unprovoked firing at Working Boundary last night.

The ISPR said that Indian unprovoked firing and shelling was befittingly responded to by Pakistan Rangers Punjab in Harpal, Pukhlian and Charwah sectors on Working Boundary.

The intermittent exchange of firing continued throughout the night, the ISPR said.

The ISPR said that injured civilians were evacuated to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Sialkot for medical treatment.

In a statement, the Foreign Office Spokesman Nafees Zakaria said that Indian troops targeted civilians in violation of ceasefire agreement.

The spokesman said that heating up of Working Boundary and Line of Control (LoC) by India is endangering peace in the region.

“There have been more than 100 ceasefire violations by India in 2016 alone,” Zakaria told media persons in Islamabad on October 20.

“In 2015 there were 39 Shahadats and 150 injuries. In 2016, so for, there has been one Shahadat and eight injuries due to India’s aggression and blatant ceasefire violations on the Line of Control continuously,” Nafees Zakaria said.
