KARACHI, Pakistan: Though Awais Shah, Son of Sindh High Court (SHC) Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah, has returned home but according to sources, an investigation into his abduction still continues and intelligence and security agencies are also looking into possible involvement of certain politicians of Karachi and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

On Monday night, law enforcement agencies (LEAs) backed by Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) conducted a successful operation near Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Tank district and recovered Awais Shah from the captivity of terrorists. Later he was safely transported to his Karachi-based residence.

The advocate Awais Shah was abducted from Clifton area of Karachi on June 20 while he was coming back from shopping on the way back to home.

Giving details about Awais Shah’s kidnapping and his recovery, sources said that few armed personals wearing police caps kidnaped Awais Shah and disappeared in the one and only cosmopolitan city of Pakistan that is Karachi.

Kidnapping of Awais Shah was a high profile incident but motives were not clear as no one accepted the responsibility, they said.

Everyone had his/her own view point as per the narrative of political and media statements which were directing towards multi-pronged directions.

Sources claimed that all the LAEs including Army were not depicting the clear picture and way out to recover son of Provincial High Court Chief Justice and after few days another soft target with high portfolio Amjad Sabri was shot dead on a busy corridor of his native place Liaquatabad, Karachi. The killing of Amjad Sabri delayed the investigation of Chief Justice’s son and many thought that both the action were done by the same group.

Sources said that after the abduction of Awais Shah, all LAEs of the Sindh government got activated and all four provinces including provincial border forces which included Sindh Rangers and Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan were also informed.

Sources claimed that after abduction, Awais Shah was shifted to a very high profile Sindh government official’s residence in Gulshan-e-Hadeed area and on the same night, he was transferred in police mobile of Thatta PS to Thatta via National Highway. Source said that Rangers also noticed the unusual move of Thatta PS mobile.

After one week, Awais Shah was shifted to Khairpur via Nawab Shah. But again a police mobile and same National Highway were used for shifting the abductee.

Meanwhile, Amjad Sabri was shot dead and all focus of security agencies and LEAs was shifted to the new incident. In the meantime, abductors got the benefit and shifted Awais Shah to Kashmore.

Meanwhile, three parties were involved in a deal to shift the victim to North Waziristan. They took the money and transferred Awais Shah to another party.

Sources claimed that the Sindh government’s high officials were involved in facilitating the abductors and providing them safe passage from Sindh to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

While transferring Awais Shah from Sindh to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, again a police mobile was used in garb of patrolling. But police high officials were kept in darkness throughout the whole process.

Sources said that with the support of few criminal political persons, victim was easily transferred to Dera Ismail Khan via Dera Ghazi Khan.

Meanwhile, according to Sources, army intelligence continued its investigation and received evidences from different sources through cyber means and local intelligence. Finally, it got the clue about the presence of Awais Shah in Dera Ismail Khan as cybercrime cell of one of Pakistan’s main intelligence agencies was sniffing all the calls generated for Afghanistan and North Waziristan.

Later, army intelligence in collaboration with FC and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police initiated an operation on 10 different locations at night on July 19 to get hold of criminals. In the meantime, one squadron of Pakistan army aviation was also on zero hour notice to respond to any untoward situation. The Army Chief General Raheel Sharif was monitoring the operation himself as per the ISPR statement.

Finally, the army and other LAEs successfully completed the operation and recovery of Awais Shah was made possible.

Sources claimed that the sole purpose of abduction of Awais Shah and murder of Amjad Sabri was to pressurize the Sindh High Court Chief Justice and Army/Rangers.

They said that it was all a game, orchestrated by enemies of Pakistan to destabilize Pakistan and defame its armed forces.

Sources further said that intelligence and security agencies are also looking into possible involvement of certain politicians of Karachi and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the abduction of Awais Shah.
