MULTAN, Pakistan: Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Multan announced result of Matriculation Exams-2016 in a ceremony, here on Wednesday.

According to gazzet notification, a total of 100162 candidates appeared in the exam, out of whom, 73350 were declared successful. Thus total pass percentage remained 73.23 percent.

The notification added that 10461 students achieved A-Plus grade, 11686 secured A grade, 21420 B grade, 17227 C grade, 12092 D grade, 444 E grade and 38 students could not grab any grade.

In Science Group among boys, Muhammad Saifur Rehman son of Liaqat Ali, Roll Number 175581 remained at top with 1085 marks.

Similarly, Muhammad Huzaifa son of Tassadque Hussain, Roll Number 173394 secured second position with 1084 marks.

The third position was achieved by Muhammad Shahzad son of Muhammad Iqbal, Roll Number 155592 with 1080 marks.

In Science Group, among females, Maryum Shoukat daughter of Shoukat Ali, Roll Number 126193 grabbed first position with 1084 marks while Khush Bakhat daughter of Baseerat Hussain (Roll Number-159251) and Areeda Ahmed daughter of Sarfaraz Ahmed (Roll Number 159220) shared second position with 1083 marks.

Similarly, Umat-us-Saboor daughter of Hadayatullah (Roll Number 138052) and Maryum Khan daughter of Muhammad Aslam Khan (Roll Number 161147) shared positions with 1081 marks.

In Arts Group (overall positions), Hafiz Tasleem Shahid (Roll 208311) grabbed 1045 marks and remained top. Fatima daughter of Muhammad Dildar (Roll Number-223206) and Shehar Bano Saeed daughter of Muhammad Saeed (Roll Number 222467) remained at second and third position with 1042 and 1041 marks respectively.

Among Boys, Arts groups, third position was grabbed by Muhammad Naveed Shehzad with 1016 marks. He is son of a poor barber namely Abdul Majeed. The family of the poor student expressed pleasure over this achievement.

Provincial Minister for Special Education Asif Saeed Manais appreciated the matchless performance of the position holders.

While addressing the ceremony, he stated that Punjab government was focusing on education sector.

He lauded Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for managing foreign tours for the position holders.

“Punjab government has ensured transparent examination and strict measures have been taken against the menace of unfair means in examination system”, said the minister.

He said that government was equally focusing on education of special kids also. Legislation would be made to offer more facilities to special kids for getting education and other skills especially in IT sector.

Chairman BISE Multan Riaz Hashmi also spoke and informed that careful approach was adopted regarding checking of the papers of position holders. He informed that the papers of position holders were checked five times in order to avoid any error.
