ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Wednesday predicted that pre-monsoon rains were likely to start in the country including Punjab, during the next 24 hours.

In a statement, a spokesman for the PMD informs that pre-monsoon currents are penetrating upper Punjab and Kashmir and a fresh westerly wave is also likely to approach upper parts of the country during next 24 hours.

Under the influence of such meteorological conditions, rain/dust-thundershower is expected at scattered places in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha and Faisalabad divisions till Friday while isolated heavy falls are also expected in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala on Thursday.

The spokesman informed that two good rains of pre-monsoon are likely to occur in the country during the next week.
