ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted mix weather conditions with three rain spells in the holy month of Ramzan while the first spell is likely from this week-end.

According to a PMD spokesman, a fresh westerly wave was likely to enter Pakistan on Saturday (evening). Under the influence of this weather system, rain-thunderstorm (with gusty winds) was expected at scattered places in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Bannu and D I Khan divisions on Saturday to Monday while this spell was expected to spread out in other areas of the country the next day.

Another rainy spell was likely from June 16 which might continue for 48 hours with occasional gaps, the spokesman told APP.

He said people would get some relief during rainy spells, however, the temperature in normal circumstances would remain same during the month of June.

Another rain spell which would be part of pre-monsoon was likely during the last 10 days of Ramzan (end of June). It would lower maximum temperature, he added.
