ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Secretary Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Hassan Iqbal on Tuesday directed the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) to install biometric system at all schools, colleges working under FDE to ensure attendance of teachers.
While chairing a meeting regarding launching of IT projects at FDE in Islamabad on Tuesday, he directed Director General FDE Shahnaz Riaz to take serious action against those teachers who were remiss to their duties.
The CADD Secretary said that the use of modern technologies in the federal educational institutions was need of the hour.
FDE had already taken numerous initiatives in the larger interest of federal educational institutions and the biometric system would be another step to ensure the attendance of teachers.
The IT expert Tallat Saeed briefed the meeting about the ongoing IT projects at FDE including new website, biometrics for attendance, monitoring and management system, educational management information system (EMIS), online complaint management system, automation system and geographic mapping of the schools.
Hassan Iqbal expressed satisfaction over the launching of these projects and directed FDE officials for their timely completion.
The CADD Officials, FDE Directors, Area Education Officers, and Principals of the schools/colleges were also present on the occasion.
