PESHAWAR, Pakistan: The process of safe and dignified return of the Temporarily Displaced People (TDPs) of South Waziristan Agency on Monday kicked off where about 30,000 dislocated families would be repatriated by May 14, 2016.

Fata Disasters Management Authority (FDMA) Director General Fayaz Ali Shah told that all the registered TDPs whose villages have been recently cleared in South Waziristan Agency would be returned for whom government has made elaborate arrangements for their facilitation.

“The return of TDPs of South Waziristan Agency has been started today and about 30,000 families would be returned by May 14, 2016,” he told.

Fayaz Ali Shah said each verified TDP family would be given Rs35000 including Rs10,000 for transportation charges through mobile SIMs and Rs 25000 through ATM cards as per the Government announcement.

The DG FDMA said a center/camp for facilitation of TDPs has been setup at Khairgi in FR Tank encompasses with all requisite infrastructures for smooth registration of TDPs.

The return of TDPs of village Manzakheli and Rakhzalkheli Katkai of tehsil Sarokai started today while TDPs of Upper Spotai and Agyargai Kheliwala of the same tehsil will commence tomorrow (Tuesday).

According to FDMA, the return of TDPs of village Broand tehsil Sarokai will begin on April 13 while April 14 was fixed for Landai Rakhzai TDPs of the same tehsil respectively.

The TDPs of tehsil Saroaki’s villages Basakai and Wach Spinkai will return on April 15, Spinkai on April 17, Alamai on April 18 and Gharazai on April 19 respectively.

As for as villages of Tehsil Sararogha is concerned, April 20 has been fixed for repatriation of TDPs of village Kamgar Lama, April 21 for Zinda Shogai, Kosiera Khel, April 22 for villages Batgai, Umar Ragzai and Hisar Rogha, April 23 for villages Gud, Zowar, Zawakhel, Jaokai, April 25 for villages Walmalghar Khel, Landi Sai, Salman Shah and April 26 for village Sararoagha respectively.

The TDPs of tehsil Ladha’s villages Miragla Shai will go back on April 27, Sansobai, Mirraghzai (April 28)  and Wastay, Sarrogh villages of Makeen tehsil on April 29 respectively.

Whereas the TDPs of tehsil Ladha villages Jinai Pathonai, Zawar will start their return journey on April 30, Ladha Propar, Kanigram on May 2, Kani Gram on May 3-5 and Ladha Makeen on May 6 respectively.

All the remaining TDPs families of Sarokai will return on May 9-10, Sararogha on May 11-12 and Tiarza on May 13-14 respectively.

The DG FDMA said resettlement of such a large number of TDPs was indeed a great challenge for us but the timely financial assistance of the government, generosity by the people of Pakistan, sacrifices of armed forces, tirelessly work by officials of FDMA and overall the resilience and patience demonstrated by the dislocated families had immensely helped us to overcome this great challenge.

The DG FDMA said the plan of federal government to ensure safe and dignified return of TDPs of FATA was moving ahead successfully as more than 64 per cent displaced families have been repatriated to their native areas by March last.

He expressed the optimism that all the TDPs would be returned to their native homes before end of current fiscal year and that process of rebuilding of infrastructure including schools, water schemes, hospitals, communications were further expedited to provide better facilities than before to the dislocated families upon their return to their native villages.
