ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry Monday announced to establish a Child Psychiatric Department at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).

He announced this while addressing the inaugural session of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Conference at PIMS here.

Dr. Tariq said child psychiatry is an important subject as childhood memories are long lasting.

He said that many questions arise in the nascent minds of children which remain unanswered due to various social and religious reasons.

These questions should be addressed and answered in a professional manner, he continued.

The minister also announced to depute permanent child counsels in all schools of Islamabad to provide assistance and guidance to the students.

While talking on the issue of brain drain, he said that nations prosper and progress due to skilled and talented human resource.

“Our youth must come back to their country after completion of education and pay back to the nation to which they owe so much.”

He said, “whatever today we are its because of this country and its our first duty to do some good for the nation.”

He appreciated the doctors who completed their studies abroad and are now back in the country to serve in hospitals in Pakistan.

Prominent doctors in the field of psychiatry gave lectures on various topics.
