ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has granted total of 79,554 local and foreign scholarships to the students of Ph.D/Post Doctoral, MS and M.Phil during the year 2014-15.
According to an official source, these scholarships include 2825 PhD/Post Doctoral, 50296 MS/M.Phil Local Scholarships under PM Fee Reimbursement Program and 26433 Undergraduate local Scholarships under HEC and US Need Based Programs.
A total of 271 students proceeded abroad for PhD during the year 2015-16 whereas 4,412 Pakistani students have been sent abroad under HEC sponsored scholarships programs for PhD studies till the date.
