ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Ambassador of Spain in Pakistan Carlos Morales said on Tuesday that trade between the two countries had improved considerably after grant of Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) Plus status to Pakistan.

Talking to Board of Investment (BoI) Chairman Dr Miftah Ismail here, the Ambassador said his country was interested to explore more investment opportunities in Pakistan.

The BoI Chairman welcomed the Ambassador and said that Pakistan had a great potential and it was one of the developing countries where business was growing due to better law and order situation in the country.

He added that there were several sectors where Spain could invest in, for example, alternative energy, edible acids, deep conversion oil refineries, infrastructure and road building, cement industries, textile, fashion and high end brands from Spain, fishing and canning and food processing.

He also ensured them that they could always come to BoI for one window operation starting from the registration of Spanish company to other formalities and they could start their businesses as early as possible.
