BEIJING: A large landslide buried eighty three workers after it hit a gold mining area in Tibet on Friday, China’s official Xinhua news agency reported.

The landslide, caused by a natural disaster, took place early in the morning and covered around four square kilometers (1.5 square miles) in the Maizhokunggar county of Lhasa, the regional capital.

The Xinhua said the workers were from a subsidiary of the China National Gold Group Corporation.
