ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has launched “Postgraduate Diploma” in five diverse disciplines that includes: Educational Planning and Management (EPM), Mass Communication, Teaching of English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), Computer Science (Online) and Early Child Education (ECE).

In addition Associate Degree in Commerce has also been introduced in eight different disciplines, said a news release Wednesday.

These specializations includes: Accounting & Finance, Banking & Finance, Hospital Management, Hotel Management, Human Resource Management, IT Management, Marketing Management and Tourism Management. Last date for the admission in these programs is March 4.

The University has set-up “Prospectus Sale Points” at Tehsil level across the board in order to facilitate the new applicants at their door-steps and placed the addresses of all these offices at its website www.aiou.edu.pk.

The applicants have been advised to contact the nearest offices for admission forms and prospectuses. Eligibility and other detail of all programs are given in the relevant prospectuses.

Admission forms along with the required fee can be submitted at the nation-wide branches of Habib Bank Ltd, First Women Bank, Bank Alfalah, Allied Bank and at the designated branches of National Bank of Pakistan and Muslim Commercial Bank.

The detail of designated branches is available in the prospectuses as well as in the Regional Offices. Candidates are advised to submit their fee in the bank by their own. Fee in shape of bank draft/pay order will not be accepted.

The University’s Regional Campuses around the Country have also set-up special camps at their offices for guidance of the new applicants.

Dr. Siddiqui further said they are working hard to bring qualitative improvement in overall-working of the University.

In this connection, the University has taken a number steps to ensure timely delivery of books as well as announcement of results within stipulated time-frame to facilitate the students to continue future study without any difficulty. SMs service has also been started to keep the students informed about the books delivery, dispatch of roll number slips and results cards.

A number of initiatives have been taken in the recent months to address the genuine grievances of the students which are the University’s main asset, Dr. Siddiqui said adding, “No University in the country can match with the academic infrastructure and facilities, available to AIOU, and now all possible efforts were being made to take full advantage of them.

He noted that the University has already touched the highest figure in term of students enrollment (1.3 million) and now focus being laid on the quality of education.
