ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced the Stipendium Hungarian Scholarship Programme offer by the Government of Hungary for the years 2016-17.

Talking to APP, an official of the HEC here Monday said that the applications were invited from Pakistani/AJ&K nationals for the scholarship launched by the Hungarian Government under bilateral Higher Education and Scientific Exchange Programme.

He said, all awards will be made on the basis of the academic merit, quality of the research proposal, potential of the candidate, and the likely impact of the work on the development of Pakistan.

The Programme, he said, was managed by the HEC and the Tempus Public Foundation, Hungary.

These scholarships were available for Pakistani students fulfilling the basic eligibility criteria and other requirements of Hungarian universities, he added.

The list of available study programmes and host institutions is accessible on Hungarian website http://www.tka.hu/international-programmes/2966/stipendium-hungaricum/.

Each applicant was entitled to apply for up to three different study programmes, in order of preference which cannot be changed.

Applicants were eligible to apply for those scholarship types and study fields that are determined in the educational cooperation programmes in effect between Hungary and the HEC.

All applications shall be submitted through the online application system of Tempus Public Foundation.

No application will be accepted without the online submission and after the deadline which was March 1st 2016. HEC may conduct interviews of initially shortlisted candidates through the subject experts here at commission office.
